What's the difference between the Recommended Plan and Topper Plan?
The difference between our Recommended Plan and Topper Plan is that with our Recommended Plan we send you 100% of the food that your dog will need for 2 weeks. With the Topper Plan, we will send you 50% portions of the food that your dog will need for 2 weeks. For the Topper Plan, you are required to mix with 50% of your dog's usual food.
How do I know how much to feed?
In your first box, we will send you a custom feeding guideline with your dog's name on it which will explain in detail how to properly transition your pup to Dog Standards, and exactly how much to feed by the cup or gram.
Do I have to refrigerate the food?
Once your food arrives you should transfer it to the freezer and place 1-2 packs in the fridge to defrost overnight, based your feeding guideline. You can continue transferring packs from the freezer to the fridge to defrost as often as your dog requires a new pack.
How do I transition my dog?
For dogs who have never tried fresh food before, we recommend a 7-day period for transition from their previous diet to Dog Standards fresh food. Keep in mind that all dogs are different! Your dog might need up to 14 days to transition properly, and some dogs may be able to handle a quicker transition.
